Is there a fueling dock at the Marina?

Is Swantown a Certified Clean Marina?
Swantown Marina has been inspected and certified by Clean Marina Washington, a partnership of state agencies and private organizations. Swantown has also been awarded the prestigious Leadership Award for innovative programs and an outstanding compliance record. This award is given to less than 3% of the marinas in the state
Who can use the pocket parks at Swantown Marina?
Boaters, as well as members of the general public are welcome to use the pocket parks throughout Swantown. Additional facilities throughout the Port property are available for special events with prior arrangements. Contact the Harbor Office for details. 360.528.8049
Does the Swantown Marina sponsor any boating programs for kids?
The Port sponsors a Kids Don’t Float life jacket loaner program and provides tours of Port facilities. Kids boating programs are available at Swantown through both the Olympia Area Rowers Association and the City of Olympia.
Will Swantown ever get covered moorage or floating boathouses?
The Marina’s development permit does not allow covered moorage or boathouses.
Does the Port have a self-help, dry-launch facility for sail boats?
Not at this time. The Marina has set aside an area at NorthPoint that could be used for a small sailboat center. The Port remains interested in receiving proposals on operating and funding such a facility.
Does the Marina have a restaurant?
There are three restaurants available on Port property within a five minute walk of the Marina. As part of the Marina expansion, a site will be available for a restaurant at Swantown.
When will the Marina expansion take place and Marina Village be built? What kind of businesses will be there?
Permits have just been received for the in-water construction of three new permanent moorage docks. Final planning will begin when market conditions warrant. It is envisioned businesses in the 4.2 acre multi-use district, called Marina Village, would be a mixture of retail, service and restaurants. The Port is currently accepting proposals from qualified firms for development of this district.
Are private marinas at a competitive disadvantage because Swantown Marina is publicly supported through taxes?
All operating costs for Swantown Marina & Boatworks are covered by profits from their operations, with no tax money used. The Marina annually analyzes local and regional rates for marine services and sets fees to place them in the middle to high end of the local market.
What are the Boatworks hours of operation?
The Boatworks office is open Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The boatyard facility itself is open all year, seven days a week, from approximately 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM.What is the largest boat that can be hauled out at Boatworks?
The Marine Travelift has a rated capacity of 82 tons, which will accommodate most fiberglass boats up to 80 feet. Maximum beam is 22’. Our new 75BFMII Marine Travelift is also equipped with a telescoping boom crane for safe and convenient removal/replacement of masts, motors and other heavy equipment which may need to be placed on your vessel. Haul out and crane time rates are variable by vessel size or duration of service being provided.Is there Long Term storage at your facility?
We provide Long Term Winter Storage from October 1 through February 28. There is a limited Spring/Summer season storage option depending on availability and Management approval. Ask for details in the Boatworks office or see our Long Term Storage page. All other storage is at our daily lay-time rates.Can I work on my own boat?
Swantown Boatworks is certainly a “do it yourself” boatyard. There are also on-site marine service providers and concessionaires to assist you with any of your repair or maintenance needs. All work being done by customers and contractors must be within the comprehensive boatyard "Best Management Practices" in order to ensure complete compliance with Department of Ecology and L&I regulations. This varies based on the season and weather. From the months of April through September plan on scheduling potentially up to 1-2 weeks in advance. During the winter, plan on scheduling 1-2 days ahead of time. We encourage customers to have their haul out schedule coordinated with any work that will be done by a contractor to ensure the work can be completed in a timely manner.Are there restrictions on the kind of work I can do in the boatyard?
Yes, we have strict Best Management Practices in place to ensure we meet the environmental standards designated by the Washington Department of Ecology. The Best Management Practices are listed in detail on our Best Management Practices page. A signed copy of the BMP's will be provided to you prior to any work being done on your vessel. Strict compliance with Boatworks environmental regulations is vital in order for the Boatworks to allow customers to work on their own boats.Can I wash my own boat?
Swantown Boatworks has state of the art wash down and water treatment facilities where we pressure wash all the boats that require a wash. We pride ourselves in professional power washing from the gunnels to the keel. If you have special needs with your wash just let us know and we will do our best to accommodate. No hand washing of any kind is allowed once the boat is blocked in its spot.Is there a covered area to work on my boat?
Our onsite service provider has limited indoor space. The Boatworks rents a mobile covered space in the yard. Due to extremely high demand, prior arrangements must be made, possibly several months or more in advance. If you are interested in these spaces, please contact Swantown Boatworks directly.
